Read All About It! GAP2 Makes The (Fishing) News

At GAP2, we love to share news about how our collaborative projects across Europe (and this case, the world!) are allowing for more understanding and knowledge to be shared between fishers, scientists, and policy-managers from different fisheries.

“There are currently a lot of changes going on – many of which at times can be confusing for our inshore fishermen. Working together is now what it is all about.” – Simon Pengelly (Southern IFCA)

In last week’s publication of Fishing News, journalist John Periam talks about one of GAP2’s more recent #GAP2exchange trips, where members of the Lyme Bay Fisheries and Conservation Reserve went to Morro Bay, California, to see how sustainable fisheries are managed in other areas of the world.

You can read the article “Lyme Bay fishermen visit California” here.

“It is important that we explore innovative approaches, making use of technology to maximise the fishing opportunities for our fishermen in the future.”  – Simon Pengelly (Southern IFCA)
