From the 14th-17th May, 2013, GAP2 researchers, Drs. Marloes Kraan and Saša Raicevich travel, with 5 fishermen to St. Andrews, New Brunswick, for the Canadian Fisheries Research Network (CFRN) annual meeting.
GAP2’s Martin Pastoors has also previously worked with the CFRN to better understand what this successful, active collaboration between scientists and industry across Canada, driven by industry, can teach the GAP2 project.
As well as attending the annual meeting, the delegation will be be spending time with Canadian lobster fishermen, exchanging ideas about best-practices in fisheries, participatory research and how knowledge can be linked to policy.
The exchange was covered on TheFishSite.com and you can read about it here.
