Three Meetings Held

“GAP 2 researchers discuss possibilities for a Fishery Management Plan for the red shrimp fishery with the Autonomous Government of Catalonia”

Three meetings between have been held to discuss and refresh the agreements achieved during GAP1, and to discuss possibilities for establishing a Fishery Management Plan for the deep-sea red shrimp fishery. Meetings have included the Palamós Fishery Association, Fishery Association of Girona, Scientific administration, Autonomous Government of Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya) and the Regional Fishery Administration. An important outcome has been the submission of a proposal to the Fishery administration to conduct a selectivity trail that will be co-financed with GAP2 proposal.

In June 2011, a one day meeting with the Technical Journey at the Palamós SeaHouse, Palamós, Spain (Jornades Tècniques de la Casa del Mar) was held, where the objectives proposed in the GAP2 CS were discussed with all the fishery community.
